ふと気づいたんですが、wvWare の wvSummary を使うと、チェックが
可能かもしれません。

The title is Namazu  のテスト
The subject is
The author is test@xxxxxxxxxx
The keywords are
The comments are
The template was Systen80:Microsoft Office:Microsoft
PowerPoint:Templates:On Scr
een & 35mm Slides:soarings.ppt - Soaring
The last author was KEPT
The rev # was 3
The app name was Microsoft PowerPoint 4.0
PageCount is 3
no wordcount
no charcount
no security
no codepage

という出力が得られるので、The app name was のところで、
Microsoft PowerPoint 4.0 なら排除するとかです。
(PowerPoint 4.0 に限らず、対応していないバージョンなら排除)

wvSummary は libole2 の test-ole の簡易版のようなものですから、
Word 以外でも使えます。
# libole2 の Perl モジュールってないのかな。
